I dunno that I agree that there was a realistic opportunity for significant numbers of shares to be bought back in the 20s though. We sat in that region for around 5 months with a total volume of about 200M shares changing hands below 30c. Assuming a buyback targeting a realistic 10% of volume and ignoring blackout periods, and assuming the buyback doesn't increase the price at all, that's only 20M shares repurchased, or ~$7.5M allocated. Of course, it's not impossible it could achieve a bit more than 10%, or maybe that big motivated seller uses it to dump way more shares, but I find those uncertainties less compelling than the two generous assumptions already made w/r/t blackouts and price action. Napkin maths only of course. But yeah, my view is that the reason management chose not to pursue a buyback is they didn't see it achieving anything meaningful other than maybe stopping the heavily invested from having to look at gutwrenching sub-30c numbers for too long, and taking that bargain purchasing opportunity away from small investors who could make use of even that "small" volume to make 6 or 7 figure investments at the low, in order to achieve a rounding error of improvement for the company
As for off-market buyback, yeah, if one was on the table it probably would have been a great decision, so if that was the case, boat was missed for sure
