Always remember that Chinchilla is just a pilot plant. It is not designed for commercial production rates and could not handle large syngas quantities. If gas production was ramped up by a large factor, what could LNC do with the massive quantities of surplus syngas? I dont think flaring (even if they have a big enough flare stack)would be politically acceptable.
