I am a consulting engneer and from time to time represent clients arguing with certifiers and regulators about engineering compliance issues.
My pet hate is when certifiers/regulators hide behind a clause or specification that is clearly wrong or being misrepresented or misused when the correct or reasonable engineering solution or decision or action is clear as day ... the stance taken by such folk is disingenuous and often trucculent imo.
The weak argument developed by the Qld Govt that they are somehow doing the community, state and nation a huge favour by trying to force Cougar into submission over the presence of two isolated and now undetectable benzene readings at the absolute limit of scientific detection at depth in a non potable aquifer is disingenuity in a most extreme form and imo will at some point unravel to bite them ... probably approaching election time.
