dispute with intermet engineering pty ltd

The following is the entry in the PGIs Annual Report for 2011. To me it is somewhat confusing when "million" is added after the figures. Is this unknown going to be a significant liability? Can anyone comment or clarify. A possible question for the AGM maybe.

26. CONTINGENT LIABILITIES
Dispute with Intermet Engineering Pty Ltd
In December 2008, EnviroGold (Las Lagunas) Limited (“EVGLL”), a wholly owned subsidiary of PanTerra Gold Limited, commenced proceedings in the Federal Court of Australia against Intermet Engineering Pty Ltd (“IME”), having previously terminated its contract with IME for the provision of engineering design and procurement services. EVGLL filed a substituted statement of claim on 14 December 2011 alleging breach of contract, misleading and deceptive conduct and negligence and is seeking damages in the order of US$10,495 million, AUD$3,785 million and further damages yet to be quantified. IME filed a cross claim against EVGLL alleging unpaid fees of $1,876 million and misleading and deceptive conduct. EVGLL refutes both claims and as the proceedings are ongoing, IME’s claims are not included in current creditors.
PanTerra Gold Limited has to date provided bank guarantees totalling AUD$119,101 in settlement of an application by IME for security of costs up to, but not including the first day of trial.
In the view of the directors, because the outcome of the proceedings is unknown, no estimate can be made in relation to the likelihood of an unfavourable decision, and no provision has been made at 31 December 2011.
