Following me makes sense as I dont see what they say so others who are less informed think I have no reply to their comments. Those who I respect however will be seen by me and I will engage. You know the story of the lion - it doesn't look or notice lesser animals as that gives them credibility that they dont deserve. That is my answer and as I presume from your post I have a new follower- lol.
I make a living from investing but never short anything I play long only as the best investment are those you dont have to sell.
As refards NHC - I must say that for the first time in the debate on the pathway to renewables we all seem to have less comfort that Lithium Ion battery power is the final.solution. I have been watching how 3 other solutions are suddenly being put forward - Hydrogen, Ammonia and the latest synthetic fuels to replace fossil fuels. Whilst none of these are direct replacements to coal they are demonstrating that renewables are facing their own internal issues and that the real issue is that we have a century invested in fossil and an infrastructure that supports ICE. Every solution seems to have significant issues of its own. The battery solution for vehicles seems to be facing real hurdles.
I just think there will be another drop in Oil prices and it will drag coal.with it. I think we will have the closure of Eraring (the largest power station in Australia) in August 2025. Origin can bring that forward and that will push prices up earlier. This is a bad situation whereby suppliers have a mix of producers and can keep prices within a target. However it makes commercial sense.
This stock is a sell for me at a price but I think my buying is done. NHC does not supply much internally in Australia but this decision to move the transition faster must be a possibility throughout its customer base.
