You are correct in that it is disrupting oil and gas however the cat is already out of the bag thanks to the internet . The oil majors are already heavily invested in renewables and other technologies . They will still provide energy . It will just be from a different source .
It will affect the world geopolitically though . The Middle East will be less strategic . Maybe Russia as well .
Most countries will be able to power themselves eventually . That is a big thing .
