I saw that Fisher had dissented. This is quite unbelievable - possible power grab at the FED?

I think Bernanke's days are numbered (Paulson's obviously are).

The GOP is resisting this bill - Shelby has proposed an alternative. If the GOP don't vote for it, neither will the democrats because this has to be bipartisan or one risks getting the blame for any mess after wards.

This really is a political mess. Once talks break down, you can't put them back together easily, so I think the bailout in its current form is limited and is not going to be to the liking of Bernanke and Paulson.

Bernanke said that this was going to be Financial Armageddon if we didn't get the bailout this week. If they keep messing about, I guess we will soon find out.

Someone should film everything that is going on and make a documentary about it. It must be like one giant game of survivor. I wonder who has the immunity idol :-).
