My end goal, while we're sharing stories of our hopes and dreams of our DW8 fortunes, is to buy a modest family home in an area of Hobart called Sandford on a decent sized bit of land around 20+ acres, with bush and Derwent River views with no visible neighbours. We own our family home here in Midwest WA but it's only worth about 250k, as housing here is cheap. Where as homes in Sandford area are now around a million bucks, thanks to all the bloody mainlanders moving to Tassie over the last few years, can't blame them though, it is God's country after all!
Whilst waiting for our DW8 fortunes to eventuate we plan on selling all our current assets and putting a few essentials and junk in storage in around 18 months time, buying a good camper trailer or small Off road caravan and taking our 3 young kids on the adventure of their/our lifetime! No bloody deadlines, no commitments, no one to answer to. Just our family and the great outdoors of this incredible and beautiful country for at least 2 years.
At what price will I sell DW8? I honestly don't know. Would love to see $1.50 one day, could be 5-7 years, could be 2 years, depends how compelling the story becomes over the remainder of this year I'd say and how much future growth gets priced in.
Its so great to hear of other posters cashing in for house deposits etc from DW8. Even if you disagree with the timing of selling, if they set out with a goal and achieved their goal that's a great win for them and I'm very happy for them.
Who knows some new deadly bat flue could be unleashed tomorrow and the whole world financial system collapses, sending DW8 back to 3 cents. Just like it's not a loss until you sell, it's also not a profit until the money is in the bank!
