The second bit of info in the announcement I linked re open sourcing is that they are out of beta at next mainframe update. This hasn’t happened yet but sounds like it is being prioritised.
I didn’t miss the point about funding, it’s always a worry with specs. Hopefully they can make some good progress within a year. As mentioned perhaps they maybe eligible for a grant from the Hbar foundation. The application mentions full funding for selected projects.
