Ceramic Fuel Cells Signs UK Distribution Agreement

Ceramic Fuel Cells Limited (CFCL) has signed a distribution agreement with RES On-Site Limited, part of international renewable energy company the RES Group. RES On-Site, which specialises in low-carbon microgeneration products, will market, sell, install and service CFCL's BlueGen units in the United Kingdom.

The Bluegen units are based around solid oxide fuel cell technology and run on natural gas so can be fuelled from the existing UK gas infrastructure. CFCL estimates that the units generate electricity at up to double the efficiency of the current power grid, with output estimated to be around three times the consumption of the average home. Surplus power can be sold back to the grid or used in other applications such as charging an electric vehicle. In addition to electricity, BlueGen units produce heat which can be harnessed for heating water, eliminating the need to use additional gas or electricity for this purpose.

The agreement is in line with CFCL's strategy to sell BlueGen units through a global network of distributors and to outsource installation and servicing to local experts.
