Once again MTS is being flagged in the Fin Review as the ,”…dominant wholesale” grocer to beat .
The article attributed to Sue Mitchell was published on the 16^th of June.
Ms Mitchell’s article discusses the futility or not of a proposal to raise $50m from strategic investors & private equity.
The Company concerned (Irexchange) brags that its technology will:
“Revolutionise the relationship between independent retailers & suppliers by facilitating direct trade.
& Reduce the price of groceries by about 10%
& Take millions of dollars of costs & working capital out of the supply chain”
As a holder I’m hopeful that secretive MTS is keeping ahead of the curve on disruptive technology platforms...
May be the imminent report will reveal Itexchange has been taken out.
My guess however is, that’s unlikely, as a MTS spokeswoman was quoted as saying that Metcash was “…not concerned by the model (Irexchange) put forward”
Be afraid.
