I really don't think that the traffic numbers will go down. I think they will just improve from here on in. Look it at this way, summer is on the way, lots of people head towards the beach for holidays, daily frolick in the sand, boating, fishing etc.. It only makes sense that if it is hot and you want to get to the water ASAP and enjoy it, you won't bother with traffic lights along the competing roads (Springvale and Stud Rd's). Once people get a taste (several trips) of Eastlink, they won't even think of the toll - they will just get on it. Just like Citylink. I don't think anyone thinks twice of using Citylink. Eastlink will be the same eventually.
