Yep. Its easy to sit here in NZ wondering why the military doesn't see sense. But the military has been in control for 50 years, it's all the the soldiers on the ground have ever known.
Hard to change something so ingrained into somebody by indoctrination.
Hopefully Chinas need for resources will lead to some form of diplomatic pressure to turn towards stability.
