Hi nine lives; I believe that the judge in this instance made some reference to the mothers influence on the said children. The mother whose manoeuvring and alienating the children from the father had a major bearing on this decision. From memory I believe she had taken the children on a holiday and never returned, some two years ago. Parent Alienation Syndrome is something I am familiar with, its horrible and no-one wins. Children are high stakes, its cruel and very real. Parental Alienation Syndrome was defined by Dr. Richard Gardner in his book "Parental Alienation Syndrome and the Differentiation Between Fabricated and Genuine Child Sex Abuse. (Cresskill, N.J. 1987). Another author on the subject and worth a read is Kenneth H. Waldron, Ph.D and David E. Joanis, J.D. - Madison Wisconsin.
On the behaviour of the mother my opinion is this: I don't condone the behaviour, it was selfish and calculated. I commend the judge on his decision. I truly feel for those children as they may not be equipped to understand all that has happened to them. I wish them the very best.
