Yet again there is plenty of skewed thinking here.
It is "not" obvious that the girls wanted to stay with their mother. It is what the mothers undue influence over them caused. She was the adult, she was the perpetrator of this whole incident. The children really had no say. They were the victims of their mother, being forced to comply with her every whim and wish. For goodness sakes it took years for the courts and a bevy of lawyers to catch up to her...what chance did the kids have. She must be jailed. The maternal grandparents should also be jailed.
What "is" obvious is that the mother wanted her way despite knowing what she was doing was illegal.
Off course its important to follow the law. If a child wants to drink alcohol, the law says No...that's it, no debate, no excuses. If a child wants to drive a car under the legal limit...again the law says no.
