As a Victorian who only occasionally visits Qld I'm not sure as to what to make of Cosima Marriner's online report on the Clive Palmer factor.
To an outsider it sounds as though the LNP is worried that actions such as Palmer's may fuel a big rethink by voters that will damage Campbell Newman's election prospects.
My guess is that if Rudd plays a key role in the campaign & Bligh scrapes back in that Julia Gillard's performance will be even more harshly discussed.
However, it's hard to see how Wayne Swan will NOT get to bring down the next budget or that Caucus will dump Gillard before assessing public reaction to the actual implementation of the MRRT & CT/ETS.
