To correct my over-enthusiastic number, there are about 20,000 3G/4G towers in Australia and 488 5G towers (as in May 2020).
5G uses a lower wavelength than 4G and travels a shorter distance so more towers are needed to provide the same coverage.
So we can say 5G has not really started yet in Australia.
