You seem like a pretty level headed punter so happy to engage. Agree with you on Livent they will not want to own and run this asset. It might be a case that they have a bid from Livent (or similar type company) for a stake in a JV and a bid from SQM or ALB (or similar type company) to takeover the whole company at a premium and then the board will have to weigh those up and recommend the best option for shareholders.
$500m US is a lot of money ($750m AUD) and if that's the highest bid and they knock that sort of money back for anywhere between 40 to 49% I will be an unhappy shareholder and would honestly have to question their sanity! Depending on the structure of the deal like costs of development of stages 2 & 3 that would legit fund everything and you would have 400k tpa of SC6 at $700 US pt which is roughly $400m AUD revenue pa. I mean give me all of that and anyone who isn't happy with that is extremely greedy! Add in extra revenue from down stream with POSCO and there's more revenue. Stage 4, 5, 6 which you might be able to keep out of the JV. Gecko said greed is good and look what happened to him
