I always enjoy a good discussion and appreciate that you have a diff opinion.
I doubt retirees are pulling out of stocks at the moment on possibility interest rates for term deposits will hit 3%. Even then that is not a good return on an average super fund for retiree, SMSF maybe the exception, you would need 1.2 Million to get $36,000 at 3%. As some one close to retirement i would not do term deposit until it hits 4.5%+ . I am keeping my money here for time being. Of course if you have good knowledge that the div will be decreasing please share that with HC.
