Your post reminds me of Gordon Gekko from Wall Street saying:

"It's not a question of enough, pal. It's a zero sum game - somebody wins and somebody loses."

This is only HALF TRUE!! For traders it is a zero sum game because someone is at the other end of your transaction.

However, over the (very) long term the stockmkaret trends upwards unfailingly. This way everybody who has a long enough time horizon wins.
