Yes, I have mentioned a lack of Form 605's in a previous post (Ceasing to be a Substantial Holder notice) and the possible reasons for that. The requirement is for substantial holders to submit this form within 3 days of selling 1% or greater of their holding, not just 3 days after selling any amount.

If you know the top 20, you'll also know that there are only two listed substantial holders (5% or >), viz Aberdeen Asset Mgmt Plc with 14.14% (154.525M), and Comm Bank with 6.11% (66.763M).
Combined, they hold 221.288M of the 798.807M (71.62%) held by the top 20...that leaves 577.519M (51.37% of issued stock) that can be sold without a Form 605 needing to be issued...quite a lot isn't it.

I'm not sure how you come by this figure Jossette, would you like to give us a link to that ASIC info.

I look up the daily short sales at the ASX listing, and last Tuesday, 2.709M of the 6.753M traded were shorts (0.22% of issue) Daily Gross Short Sales reported for 20-Nov-2012

I'm aware that short sales have to be reported to the ASX, but I didn't think you had to report when you 'covered' the short.
Are you telling me ASIC keeps a list of all the uncovered shorts on a stock, and adjusts and promulgates it accordingly as they get covered? I'd like to see that list.

Like I said, I wouldn't like to be shorting down at these levels..would have been much better prior to the 6th.
