There are close to 2,130,119 coal mines currently operating around the world and from 2000 - 2023 only 470,467 were retrired out of which 26% were due to issues with caol mines
out of 2,130,119 almost 53 percent of these are in China and its growing, you need to see 23,498 are mothballed mines i.e. preserved for future use this is the ploy Europe has adapted, if this EV things goes bust them they will activate all these mines.. to add to above comments

so add 92,834 +112,952 +175,064 to 2,130,119 in next few years, coal will stay on its all geo politics and price manipulation we should be worried about..
