It seems to be becoming regular practice amongst listed companies at the moment. If WES can raise capital this way, it would keep reduce some of the volatility in the share price. As we all know, non-renouceable share offerings dilute the share price, wereas the drp will have negligible impact. I most certainly think the dividend will reduce, given WES commitment to refinancing debt by the due dates and their excellent relations with lenders.
Personally, I won't be participating in the DRP, given the short term volatility with the share price. Plus I always find that as the market approaches dividend payment date, the price rises, and then collapses once it's paid.
