Residents of Australia pay the same rate of tax on foreign income as the rest of their income. It doesn't make any difference to them.
Non Residents pay only 10% on interest and unfranked dividends. This was designed to ensure foreign investors put their money in OZ. Residents are the ones that cop the higher rate of tax.
