I'm hoping for at least $1 USD... but wouldn't be surprised if it's lower.
Quick question - I'm looking to top up my WDS. Dividends aren't particularly favourable for me due to tax - wondering whether I should buy after the ex-dividend date.
The share price usually drops by the amount of the dividend on the ex-dividend date, BUT I've also noticed that the share price often runs up prior to the announcement of the dividend. So you might end up just getting the dividend for free.
e.g. Share price around $30.50 now - might run up $1 or so if a good dividend expected / announced, and then drop back down to ~$30-30.50 ex-dividend.
Thoughts?
