a few points i think are relevant
# ok 2.2% isnt a great yield on todays SP but if bought a
few years back at $25 the div yield now would be about 4%.
# if they doubled the dividend the SP may double then shareholders would again complain the div is small
# find another stable diverse cashed up miner paying a better div
# with a ROE of 25% and looking for 40% from future developments, this is a fairly good place to invest my capital
# if you think they are only doing shareback to increase the value of their options, what do you think an increase to the div would do for those options?
# BHP hasn't decreased their div for 80 years.
