I can't see QAN paying a dividend this year, maybe next year as by then, the agreement between Qantas and Emirates would have been in place for a year. I remember reading about the profits that QAN will make with Emirates, from someone within the industry, I think it was between $75-120 million so QAN International should be in the Black by then I hope.
The interest thing here is this, this month Aus Aviation has an article on QAN upgrading all of there fleet A330s, 30 of them with new refurbish interiors in late 2014, as well as 5 new 737-800 for the domestic fleet.
Now AJ and QAN must know that they will be making a shit load of money next year. If they want the Mums and Dads back in QAN, then just maybe QAN might pay a dividend by 2014, until QAN starts paying a dividend the Mums and Dads will stay away from QAN.
