It seems to me that you are merely having a vent and are providing false and misleading figures to support your sentiment !
I too am down about 5.4% but that is probably due to buying indiscriminately when the share was above NTA and shortly before a period when the stock admittedly had poor performance.
Karl was one of the first fund managers to recommend Macquarie in the low teens and took CDM into overseas shares before it became fashionable to have a mix of Australian and international shares. He is the largest individual shareholder... and I like seeing my manager having skin in the game.
I am not saying that Karl walks on water, but I dont think he deserves the picture that you are painting !
My guess is that Karl is hanging onto cash to increase his already substantial holdings in % terms in cash, to prepare for a possible correction ......or in an attempt to increase earnings and to prevent investors from seeing CDM as an income stock only for SMSFs.
You may be underwater in terms of capital losses, but you’ve certainly profited in the dividend department over those 4 years.
Lets call a spade a spade, but dont call it an effing shovel without good reason !
