Interesting that Woodside has postponed or cancelled some capital spending and chosen to return the cash to shareholders in the form of a special dividend and future higher payout ratios. Seems that BHP & Rio could follow suit and move towards rewarding shareholders in the absence of cap ex requirements. Who would have thought these guys could become income stocks?
Now all we need to do is find a smaller, de-risked stock with growth potential that has flagged that they will continue to return excess funds to shareholders while paying down their modest debt load.
Anyone know where such a stock might be that represents good value?
