Lots of info on ABC site but not updated since Nov 2011. An earlier post sez 'water table in D.Downs has dropped by 47m' needs urgent substantiation. I can't find anything to match this. I know farmers on D.Downs. They would be screaming blue murder if water table had fallen by this amount. But 100% agree it must be monitored. Have read that some of the water is being treated and sold very cheaply to farmers including irrigators near Chinchilla.
