grassin, I agree. putting up rates would only exacerbate the problem further.
IMO, the only way to jump start global economy, is 1) to forgive 3rd world debt, 2)give everyone in OECD countries $500 pre xmas and 3) smash DXY below 90 and 4) junk the Euro
....none of which will happen this side of the black stump
