If I can buy for $0.145 and get a dividend, or I can buy for $0.145 the next day and not get a dividend...I would definitely be buying the first day and not the second, on the second day I would be filling to pay the previous price minus the dividend that I missed the day before.
SP usually runs up towards the dividend date then falls on the ex-date.
