DJ China Jinlong Copper To Raise 2009 Refined Copper Output 16% ( ) BEIJING, May 08, 2009 (Dow Jones Commodities News via Comtex) -- Jinlong Copper Co. plans to produce 350,000 metric tons of refined copper this year, up 16% from 2008, a senior official at its parent company said Friday.
Last year, the company, a unit of Tongling Nonferrous Metals Group Holdings Co. (000630.SZ), produced 302,000 tons of refined copper, said Zhou Jun, a senior engineer at Tongling, during a metals conference.
The output target was increased due to strong domestic demand, Zhou said.
Jinlong's annual copper production capacity is 400,000 tons, he said.
Tongling has been exploring mines in Africa and South America, he added, without giving further details.
