I think it will be interesting to watch the US and its capitalist system over the next decade or two.

There is no doubt that it is far from the democratic socialism of most western nations.

As such the US is the quickest to respond to any stimulus and hence its boom/bust nature and also the walking/ wounded of its poor and uneducated and sick.

I think an Obama presidency will bring the US into line with most western democracies.

The US are a strange bunch, hypocritical in the extreme, and barbarian in nature.

What so called "Christian" nation could you imagine as pro death penalty, having 10 times per capita imprisonment of their citizens than any other nation, engaging in a new military conflict every 18 months on average since independence, etc, etc.

I understood "Christianity" meant "turning the other cheek", in the US it means "an eye for an eye".

Strange people.
