I am not sure moving the focus east is a positive, it will be harder to get the eastern link to Mozambique off the ground as it relies on Zimbabwe getting their act together. The trans-kalahari route would be easier as it only involves one other country and Namibia are very keen to get more traffic through Walvis Bay. I could be wrong here, feel free to shoot me down.
