I don't like Djokovic and don't believe him..... but this is a debacle of the Immigration depts own making. D. should never have been granted a visa in the first place as he didn't fulfil the requirements.

he provided no substantiation of his claimed covid infection and it seems to have been shown to be suspect. numerous apparent lies made.

but Immigration would have passed this up the food-chain to Hawke to make a decision. and because of the non-compliance with the requirements and the high profile of the case, Hawke would have discussed it with his PM.

I don't suppose we'll ever find out the truth of the visa being granted, but this is where the problem lies.
