I agree with you, he just referenced dilution as something that should be considered when planning.
Like there's an engineering challenge that a car should be able to stop, so the car manufacturers put a brake in it.
There are at least 3 strategies to minimise the impact of dilution in the pumped brine:
1. Putting the extraction wells and the reinjection wells far away. This can be seen in Kachi process sheet below:
2. Considering natural brine flows.
3. Gradually modifying the depth from where you're pumping brine.
