    For 50ktpa lithium carbonate, 46 million cubic metres of lithium bearing brine will be processed each year...that's 46 billion litres per year.

    95% of it will be re-injected back into the salar.

    Apart from environmental issues, let's consider cost.

    High costs will be an issue when volumes of spent brine such as these are considered.

    High capital expenditure linked to the installation of pipelines and feed wells to appropriate positions (and depth).

    High operational costs mainly driven by energy consumption (ESG?), involved in forcing brine into a saturated basin.

    With the increase in volumes, strategies for controlling dilution may lead to increasing capital expenditure in the development of the discharge points.

    The discharge strategy should have been included in the early stages (PFS), in an accurately built numerical groundwater model.

    I trust this numerical modelling will be included in the DFS and ESIA.
