Back in Oct/Nov 06 the DMI separation was relatively small and took 23 periods to reach its max separation from whence it gradually weakened as SP fell.
In contrast, the DMI in the present pattern started off wide and after 18 periods isnt showing any signs of widening. If the thinking is along the lines that the present pattern is more bullish than the previous pattern in Oct/Nov 06 then it is hard to see it on the DMI indicator.
