Sorry, posted this in wrong thread.
I haven't been the fast food type for years, but opportunity struck tonight and I decided to get some dominoes, having been many years since I used to eat waaay too much of it at uni. There will be variations franchise to franchise, and I am not in any way a chef or culinary expert so take my opinion with a grain of salt...
- I found the ordering process very easy. I downloaded the app, I didn't need to create an account, I didn't need to supply credit card details nothing. Big tick in my box. Data harvesting by many companies pisses me.
- The app was fairly straightforward and plenty of photos showing what I was looking at.
- Got 2 pizzas and 2 sides for $28, so not bad from a value proposition at all, considering it was only a few weeks ago we paid $31 for a half assed margherita pizza at some mid scale restaurant.
- Back to my first point, you do have to supply a name/phone number/email when you actually place the order. But there is zero verification. I could have made it all up, it wasn't relevant to me getting the product.
- Drove the store and paid in store for my order hassle free, was ready within the timeframe (15-20 minutes) advertised when i placed the order
- The quality of the packaging was robust, it wasn't a long or erratic drive home but the pizzas were safe and were still hot when i got home. (They werent wrapped in a newspaper or stuffed in a brown paper bag as one extreme of 'poor packaging'
- The actual food quality was much the same as I remember it, still good (again I'm not a MasterChef judge) and went down a little too easily. Despite me telling myself I was only going to have half the pizza and put the other half in the fridge for later I ate the whole thing in one sitting. Plus the brownies after it. (Those in glass houses shouldn't throw stones, lest you judge...)
Honestly all in all a pretty good experience, it delivered largely what was promised in terms of price, quality and timeliness. My only complaint is that the brownies are a LOT smaller than they look on the app. But dominoes would be far from the first to use such deceptions.
FWIW, I had the BBQ rasher chicken. Hawaiian is in fridge for tomorrow. Yes pineapple on pizza too, dominoes hasn't abandoned us die hards yet.
