Honestly the economics of pizza in Asia (particularly SEA) don't make sense. I live in Malaysia & I don't know anyone who orders Dominos or pizza in general. It's relatively extremely expensive. I used to be able to get a pizza in Sydney for $5 (RM 15) before I moved in 2022. The cheapest normal-sized pizza (without some ridiculous combo deal) in Malaysia is RM 36... considering the wages of casual staff are only 10-15% of Aussie casuals (yes, you read that right), it doesn't make any sense why the prices are so high for what is predominantly a service-based business (make pizza, deliver it.) It simply doesn't compete with alternatives - you can get a decent steak at a sit-down restaurant for that price.
