not too sure if you can compare us and oz. with all automation and optimization in processes, pizza is still quite labor intensive and our labor costs are considerably higher than the US and if anything the delta will increase after the next election with the coalition being in self destruct mode.
franchisees always whinge, but never before could you buy so many dominos shops for so little money. personally i think they should focus even more on international markets. they killed eagle boys, pizza hut is shrinking and capers and crust were never a competition. oz has reached saturation point.
add to that the margin calls that loom in the thirtys and you have a decision that was guided by fear and not rational thinking.
