So you are aware, this is not really a question for geologists, metallurgists have all the know how here. The significance for the geologist is the opportunity to revisit sub economic nickel exploration plays near surface poor/ low grade with a developed supergene dominated by limonite and/or perhaps low volume saprolite with modest grade whereby volume and/or grade can be increased significantly by utilisation of the limonite in the ore calculation or where saprolite is poorly developed in ultramafic plays, this could apply to supergene of various nickel deposit types. It is likely going to be very attractive to a number of existing low grade high volume producers with enormous stockpiles of limonitic spoil with the predicted rise of the nickel price and demonstrated commercial success of DNI.
