Do Christians sin ? ABSOLUTELY, page-380

The problem as I see it is that we have the wrong concept of religion and these Prophet figures such as Jesus.

The Scripture surrounding Jesus is of a time and place. 2,000 years later in a Western context, having been translated from a translation, with the nuance tweaked intentionally or unintentionally to fit a prevailing prejudice, we get this horse designed by a committee, the end result being a camel.

All religions are one. They are aspects of a single religious expression that begins with the first abstract thought tens-of-thousands of years ago, passes through all the indigenous religions, all the Middle Eastern religions and will continue on so long as humans exist, being renewed from time to time along the way. Each of these religious forms are adapted to the need, the capacity, the receptivity of the hearer, otherwise they are the one religious expression. So no religion is unique. They build on the past foundations laid by previous religions. The OT for example is full of Egyptian and Sumerian religious copying. The NT leans on the OT. Islam leans on the OT and the NT. All this is legitimate. Religion does not in any way reflect God, rather it reflects the limitations of the human condition, at the time of revelation, as such all religion presents only a relative truth.

Jesus is not unique. Christianity is amongst hundreds of valid religions, all equal. Their differences can be explained, but not now.

With the advent of Jesus, it's not just the words He spoke, it's a new potential released with His coming. Today His words are somewhat cold and lifeless in the hands of His so-called followers, but in their day, when they were exerting influence, people gave their lives for those words. They dedicated their lives to those words and those words transformed the world over time. We live in a world transformed by Jesus.

So it matters not if the words spoken by Jesus, or in the Bible are copied or unoriginal. It matters not if there were hundreds of Jesus figures, because there was only one real, Jesus and He released a new potential greater than His words and nobody can deny this because we live in a world transformed by this personage and His word.
