I have already transferred my largest holdings (SLR & IGR) from CHESS sponsored to Issuer Sponsored. $54 for each time you transfer. $108 is pretty cheap insurance for the size of the holdings. If a major bank/broker in Aus failed, you would have to wait in line to get your shares - a process that could take years in court wrangling. If it was a big enough institution, the Clearing House insurance would likely be insufficient.

Not prepared to risk it. I'll move CCU to issuer sponsored as well when it gets back over $1.
