To begin to answer that, you need to understand the share register. Who is on it, and how did they acquire their shares.

CBA wouldnt budge from HC posts because they have a high percentage of insto money. Insto and brokers dont use HC for research(neither should we).

Now in JPR case, we are beneath the radar of instos and apart from Pattersons clients and previously Indian Oceans, the majority of shareholders are small time investors.

Some may have a full service broker. Others use a no frills online broker.

Now comon sense says even an average investor should do their own research, but in many cases HC is used as a starting point, and unfortunately is the only tool used for some.

If enough negative things are said about a stock like JPR, would you even bother researching further or just walk away?

Like wise if too much positive is being posted, you may decide you dont need to research. So many pressumably smart posters cant be wrong could they?

Some spec stocks are targeted and ramped up or down by a team. So always beware.

Regarding JPR, I dont think anyone has ever stepped over any ethical or legal boundaries.

If you justify your thoughts and state them as opinion only then all is good.
