Hi Profess, I couldnt resist throwing in my 2 cents worth, mainly because I'm a big believer in taking responsibility for your own actions, which a lot of people dont do.
I understand your perspective becuase there is no doubt that what the experienced posters say carries some weight, because they show a track record of often being right - the operative word being often, but not always. As a result I admit that what they say influences my thinking - but the operative word there is thinking - I do my own and that includes research and at the end of the day no matter what they say I make my own mind up based on all the information I take into consideration - of which their posts are and should only be a part.
No matter how much I respect some of the posters with hearts because of the fantastic work they share selflessly with everyone, they dont always get it right (they often debate amongst themselves because their views are different after all - so they cant all be right) and they are the 1st to say that - and that's part of the advice they themselves offer.
After all, HC is or should be a forum for freely expressing what you think, and imo that means we shouldnt saddle some posters (i.e. the hearts) with a burden of responsibility that may inhibit their freedom of expression just because we dont want to take responsibility for our own decisions.
