It seems that many posters do not understand the impact of capital return on share price.
iF AMP gives us a billion bucks back then us shareholders get a billion bucks to share in. About 30 cents each. That is great.
but as soon as this happens, amp shares are worth 30 cents less. Just as all shares go down immediately after a dividend payment.
So talk of amp SP being $2 etc is not sensible. If we get 30 cents then my valuation of up to $1.70 means amp is worth $1.40.
why is this so hard to understand? You can’t have your cake and eat it….
Do people understand the impact of capital return on the share price?
