maybe the subsidy driven timber plantations that all collapsed when the subsidies ended might ring truer. I travelled to Tasmania a lot over the last 20-30 yrs and witnessed the whole mess unfold . Some of the best agricultural land in Australia cleared of fences and dairies , planted down to sad monocultures of either Pine trees or Eucalypts , neither native to the area .,as we speak they are gradually returning to their previous use after the efforts of others left with the mess.
The lesson being SUBSIDIES skew things to unrealistic ends that have little or no relevance to reality ,In the end the renewables industry will suffer the same ugly end as has already happened in other countries . To ignore that is to have your head deep in the sand
