I remember that song broadcast from a great, huge battery-radiogram when I was a kid on a dairy farm in the middle of nowhere.
When something stops evolving it is for all intents and purposes, dead, and then it breaks down / decay sets in and that which is composed will begin to decompose. The sign of a religion that has stopped evolving is that it decomposes into endless sects, schisms and pseudo forms, such as all the American fake Christian religions and the industrialisation of Christianity in that country in particular.
Depending on who you believe it has been suggested that there are more than 45,000 Christian denominations. How many more parts can Christianity break into before we can say that Christianity is ineffective as a living force in humanities future?
I think the tail has been wagging the dog for centuries.
